Deckhand - Temporary / Seasonal - Panama
Update!! The boat is now in Mexico and I am looking for 2 more crew to sail to Hawaii.
I have a 2007 43ft beneteau Cyclades that I am looking for crew to help me get the boat to Hawaii. The boat is a fractional sloop with a slab reefing main (2 reefing points) and a roller furling jib. All lines run aft into the cockpit and is relatively easy to sail. I bought the boat in Grenada and have been sailing it for about a year now with my wife and 2 kids. We just went through the Panama canal and are sailing to Cabo Mexico this weekend. So far we have went almost 3500 miles (on this boat) but for now the kids are staying at home and I need some help. Duties will include shifts at the helm, night shifts, share cooking and cleaning, and helping with sails. The plan is to leave Cabo and cross the Pacific to Hawaii. Must have a fun and positive attitude, a bit of an adventure seeking attitude and easy to get along with. The boat has 4 cabins and 2 heads, one cabin is a bunk setup mostly used for storage. Looking for 2 additional crew (there will be a total of 4 crew). I Also have a watermaker onboard and generator.
A bit about me, I am a happily married 47 year old commercial pilot for Hawaiian Airlines. I currently live in Utah and am based in Honolulu. I love sailing, diving, and catching big fish off the boat. I am pretty laid back and easy going but do like to have things in order when underway. Safety is my biggest concern and like to work in a crew environment. Also interested in crew for parts of the trip as well If this sounds like fun let me know and hope to hear from you. cheers
