Captain - Rotational - Panama
I am looking for a Captain with great technical and maintenance skills, we are off grid and troubleshooting has to be done by ourselves, no professional help around.
The charts are not accurate here so its important to know the area, i will teach and show you around.
Locals speak Spanish and guests mostly english so speaking both languages is a +.
I promote this boat as all female crew and would like to keep it that way, so i look for a female team.
Soon a cook/stew position will be open as well.
We offer all inclusive charter and try to give the best food and drinks to the guests (presentation is super important).
I spend one year refitting this beautiful old Lagoon 55 Catamaran to get her ready to do charter. Since 2 years im doing charter in the san blas islands. I do everything by myself and did the refit just with volunteers. I love the basic lifestyle, nature and keep things easy. I like to work hard and see tge progress, on the way there is a lot to learn.
This is an old boat and i like to see her in perfect condition. This means something is to do every day and the goal is to make her better and take good care.
Its a great chance if you want to learn more about boats, get your own one day or just want to get some experience and be in paradise (yes the san blas islands are paradise).
If there are charter crew is payed, in between charters there are volunteer jobs to do every day (like 4 hours daily) but also a lot to discover on the islands, watersports, snorkeling, paddeling… Experience is not necessary, but motivation and willingness to learn and adapt.
Im looking for someone who can cook on charter (no professional cook needed but a basic knowledge and interest to cook), clean and willing to help with all tasks coming up on the boat (you never know what comes up).
I expect crew to bring motivation, be proactive, ready to get the hands dirty, interested in learning and participating in whatever job has to be done.
Im looking for people who can stay minimum 3 months.

I've recently crewed on an Atlantic crossing with Elena as captain. Before departure, she was incredibly thorough in all aspects of preparation, from provisioning to engine maintenance to being alert for a safe weather window for the navigation. Throughout the crossing, she was a fantastic teacher, an easygoing and approachable captain, and happily shared in the daily tasks of cooking amd cleaning. Her dog Nali is just about the best company you could hope for on a boat.. and I would highly recommend spending some time on Flying Ginny.
