Sailing from St Martin to Newport, RI, USA.
Hi,
I a pulling together a sailing trip in May from St Martin to Newport, RI, USA stopping in the Bahamas and the Carolinas on the way. The boat is a four year old Jeanneau 64. She is very comfortable and fast with 4 cabins, AC water maker, navigation equipment etc. I am thinking about trying to find 4-5 people in addition to myself. I hope to find fun, easy going people who are interested in learning from each other.
I am looking for crew members with some sailing experience who are comfortable being on watch.
I have sailed since I was a teenager in the UK. I started sailing bigger boats when I got to Boston about 25 years ago. I have mostly chartered in various parts of the Caribbean and Tonga. I owned a Hunter 33 for a few years near Boston and bought the Jeanneau 64 in 2020. I sailed the Jeanneau in France and the Balaeric Islands in 2020, then the Caribbean in 2021 and back in the Mediterranean 2022-2023. I didn’t sail across the Atlantic. I am not a captain who shouts and able to adjust to the needs of a crew. My oldest son is 17 and with just two of us together for two months in 2020 and I found that this was really important. My family are not able to join me at this time with School etc.
Let me know if you are interested or if I can answer any questions.
Thanks, Will
