Stew/Deck - Permanent - Min exp 2 years - $TBD - United States

Position Overview
This exciting opportunity is for a combined Bosun / 1st Mate / Stew as the full-time mariner on board a modern 90’ Ocean Alexander super yacht based in Seattle. You can see our adventures on Instagram and Facebook at VoyagerSuperyacht.

This individual is responsible for maintaining and servicing the systems, operating the vessel in either deck or 1st Mate capacities, provisioning as needed, serving as a key member of the charter crew for a few weeks of charters annually, and supporting the onboard guests and owners, who are collaborative and hands on in operating and serving as the primary captain of the yacht. This person is supported by a strong group of industry professionals - covering everything from system and electronics upgrades to boat washing, pump outs, and professional dive support.

This opportunity will take you to some of the world’s best yacht cruising destinations, from Seattle and Puget Sound to the Salish Sea, Desolation Sound, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, and the stunning Southeast Alaska fjords. We regularly see an abundance of wildlife – including whales, seals, sea lions, porpoises, bears, eagles, and more – while going to amazing events like the Seafair Air and Sea show.

We’re on the water 100+ days a year, with most of that during May-October, leaving plenty of time for off season travel, participating in other yacht deliveries or trips, training, or more relaxed days. Note that some trips may last up to 3 months, such as going from Seattle to SE Alaska and Glacier Bay. Travels will generally be in good weather and are in more protected waters.

When not on the journey, the yacht is docked in fresh water on Lake Union, which is very close to downtown Seattle, Pike Place Market, the Seattle Center, the University of Washington, and other areas of interest. The exclusive marina is designed for super yachts and is very secure.

This can be either a full-time year-round or seasonal role, and we’re fine with time for off-season travels to work on other yachts for deliveries, charters, or other positions.

We also offer the option of living aboard to save you money. The crew quarters are both spacious and modern and includes Wi-Fi both at the dock and underway, a tv with streaming services, microwave, gourmet coffee, refrigerator, washer and dryer, luxury bedding and bath linens and towels. Of course, you’re also more than welcome to use the other areas of the yacht while knowing that you do have a private place to retreat when you want. The home port marina has free parking.

Finally, the owners are both welcoming and down to earth, and are fine sharing these amazing life experiences with you and others. We don’t view this as a role where you just work while remaining in the shadows but rather one that shares in the experiences with them.
