Chef - Temporary / Seasonal - $negotiable - U.S. Virgin Islands

We would like to offer an opportunity for Chef work on our Charter Sail boat for the weeks of Oct.26, to Nov. 1. and Nov. 9, to Nov. 16th.
It will be an introduction and possible longer term, doing Chef work on a Charter sail boat in the U.S.Virgin Islands. Which includes St. Thomas, St. Croix, and St. John, along with the other associated U.S. Islands.
It should be noted that a person will be working early hours typically starting around 7:am for breakfast for 8 guests, then lunch around noon, and dinner around 6:pm.
It is a full day's work for 7 days, (typical charter) In between charters the Chef can relax and enjoy the water and sun. The usual charter itinerary consists of pickup of guests in early afternoon on
the day of their arrival, then consecutive days till the charter ends at noon on the last day. The Chef is also responsible with the crew to clean up the galley as it was when they started.
The Chef will need to arrive at the boat at least 2 days prior to the start of the Charter to get familiar with the boat and galley equipment.
An interested person can not be a smoker nor have a history of drug use or alcohol abuse.
A passport is not required, but you must be a U.S. citizen with a current drivers license that has the validating star on it.
The Chef must be a people person with a pleasant personality. Tip is split equally between the crew. Crew would consist of a Captain, and possibly a 3rd mate, that will help the Chef in serving, cleaning, and doing dishes. We found that a Chef that cleans as they go, works really well, but we understand if it cannot be done in this fashion.
Necessary is a brief resume with several pictures of the applicant, along with pictures of plated meals or a list of any meals that they feel confident in making. Desserts are fairly important which helps in impressing the guest.
An appetizer before a lunch or dinner is also impressive to the guests. The job also requires the Chef to prepare a shopping list of food from the guest preference sheet, then along with their assistance shopping for the items the 2 days
prior to the start of the charter.
