Our Charter Captains are essential to our operation, with unrivalled local knowledge and impressive sailing expertise, they allow
our customers the opportunity to have an expert on board and a more relaxing experience. You will design an itinerary tailored
to the client’s preferences, the weather, and of course allowing time to surprise and delight with any secret hidden gems. Our
captains really do become a part of our client’s holiday and are one of the main contributing factors to providing unforgettable
experiences which keep them coming back time and time again.
We want our customers to be excited to sail with our captains, and book them on their returning trips, therefore personality is
key, our captains should be warm, approachable, and adaptable. Our clients come from all over the world, and will be a mix of
couples, families, friends, and even corporate groups or organisations. For some clients, the captain will become a big part of their vacation and will be involved in everything they do, whilst others may want the support with the yacht management
however some privacy in the evenings. Our captains are expected to be able to adapt to customer preferences and react
accordingly ensuring the customer experience is the priority at all times.
Our captains are professionals, they are independent, and confident in their abilities, and can show initiative to solve day-to-day problems whilst chartering. We offer a full range of support including a strong base team with a diverse skillset, dedicated
management, and development opportunities within the company. Whilst working within our team our company operating
procedures are expected to be followed, training modules completed, and qualifications should be kept up to date.
On average a charter captain will be on the water for between two to three weeks per month, however full flexibility is
required, and back-to-back charters will occur, especially during peak periods. Whilst not on charter our captains will be
required to support with any reasonable duties including base work and support to our customer service and operational teams
across the base, as directed by a supervisor. At times our charter captains may also be selected to support with our flotillas or
an all-inclusive crewed yacht charter which will require working alongside other crew members.
