Sailing from Lake Ontario to the Caribbean in late summer
In 2018 I sailed from Toronto down to the Bahamas and returned the following year. The zombie apocalypse has delayed repeating this adventure, but I am confident that next summer it will be possible. So, next September (2022) I would depart Lake Ontario to make the Erie Canal locks before they close for the season. After that, it’s a slow sail down the eastern seaboard before we make the jump to the Bahamas and beyond. However, before we set off, there is plenty of sailing time on Lake Ontario to get acquainted and try each other out!
