I am a Cook at Beach Garden Hotel in Malta, where I manage workstations, prepare ingredients, cook various dishes, and ensure excellent food presentation. My role demands meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. My experience in monitoring stock levels and placing orders has also honed my ability to manage kitchen supplies efficiently.
Previously, as a Commis Chef at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, I enhanced my culinary skills by preparing meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings, and maintaining kitchen and food safety standards. My ability to develop culinary knowledge continuously and effectively support senior chefs allowed me to thrive in this fast-paced environment.
At Queens Restaurant in Negambo, Sri Lanka, I partnered with the culinary team to ensure coordinated workflow during shifts, supervised kitchen helpers and apprentices, and planned menus that were nutritionally balanced and appealing. My role also involved estimating food requirements and costs, and overseeing food preparation and cooking processes.
My journey in the culinary field began as an Apprentice Chef at The Hilton Colombo, where I supported daily operations, maintained hygienic conditions, and controlled food stock and costs. This foundational experience was instrumental in shaping my culinary expertise and work ethic.
I hold a Food Handler Training Certificate from St. Bernard's Safety Training Centre in Malta, and I have completed several culinary training programs, including a Cook certification from the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Hotel Management training from the National Youth Service Council in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
In addition to my technical skills, I am proficient in English and Sinhala, which enhances my ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers from diverse backgrounds.
