Looking for a Competent Crew, Novice Crew or Deckhand position
Hi - I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Competent Crew, Novice Crew or Deckhand. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and refining skills related to sailing!.
About me:
• I am very passionate about anything ocean related. I enjoy free diving and fishing in my spare time. A bit of novice on the speargun but self proclaimed in catching Crayfish/Lobster, Abalone, Sea Urchin etc. Hunting is also a passion although I've only been once its another skill I wish to obtain along the way - apologies to any vegans :)
• Have clocked over 30000+nm at sea (motored) and have only spent about 4 weeks of that sailing on a monohull so would love to refine what little skills I have in sailing and learn plenty more, as I wish to circumnavigate the world on my own sailing vessel one day.
• I have 8 years’ experience working for the Royal New Zealand Navy as a Radar/Sonar Plotter. My core naval trade responsibilities were to identify and report any vessels and supply navigational aid by utilizing ships sensors, radar, sonar, AIS etc. Proficient in general seamanship, line handling, watchkeeping, Radio comms etc.
