Experienced bareboat skipper looking to gain additional offshore miles as crew
Hi - I grew up in the mountains of North Carolina and spent extensive time outdoors throughout my childhood, hiking, biking, rock climbing, etc...I worked at a summer camp growing up and am comfortable with a variety of weather environments, changing conditions, problem solving, etc... I'm still an avid outdoorsman and take every possible chance to spent time in the outdoors and in the backcountry.
We started sailing as a family in 2020. My wife and I completed ASA 101,103, 104 and 114 and I've also completed ASA 105,106, 108 and 117 as well as the online portion of US Sailing's Safety at Sea. We've chartered multiple day bareboats over the past five years and have done 7, 10 day+ bareboats in the BVIs, Croatia, Abacos, and Guadeloupe. I also completed my first offshore trip in May '26 from Tortola to Newport, on a FP 45 catamaran.
I'm looking to gain more offshore experience so we can decide if we want to take a longer term cruise with our kids. I'm looking for a passage 1-14 days in length and my schedule is flexible with a bit of a heads up. We live in North Carolina so something on the East Coast of the US or in the Caribbean would be the ideal location.
Thanks so much and look forward to connecting.
