Experienced bareboat skipper looking to gain additional offshore miles as crew; longest offshore trip is 1700nm
I'm 43 years old and married with three kids. I started sailing in 2020 on a hobie cat and that ultimately turned into more sailing since. I've run 8 1-2 week bareboat charters in Croatia, BVIs, Guadeloupe, Grenada/Grenadines, the Abacos and Turkey plus a handful of day sails in Charleston and one in Alaska.
In May of this year, I completed my first delivery as crew through Swain Sailing, where we moved an FP 45 from Tortola to Rhode Island.
I've done ASA 101, 103, 104, 105, 106, 108, 114 and 117 as well as the online portion of the US Sailing Safety at Sea class. I also took a 5 day diesel engine/boat systems/electrical class through Narragansett Sailing School last fall. Our initial ASA courses were on a monohull and we've done a mix of charters on both cats and monohulls (all sloops).
We're in Charlotte, NC and are working towards an extended cruise with our kids so I'm focused on getting more offshore experience. East Coast of the US, Bahamas, and Caribbean would all be possibilities. I'm comfortable on watch, cleaning, cooking, have a positive attitude and am comfortable problem solving in high stress situations. Thanks for your consideration.
