Experienced Sailor | >21,000 NM | Yachtmaster Offshore Certified
With over 21,000 nautical miles logged, I bring extensive hands-on experience, a solid foundation in sailing qualifications, and a passion for life at sea.
In 2022 I fully immersed myself in offshore and racing opportunities, solidifying my path toward a professional sailing career while crossing the Pacific Ocean from Panama City, Panama, to Coffs Harbour, Australia, via French Polynesia and Fiji. I served as a line handler during two transits of the Panama Canal. These experiences taught me critical skills in navigation, night watches, passage planning, and customs and clearance procedures in diverse international ports. Living at anchor for two months in Nuku Hiva, French Polynesia, I independently maintained and managed a boat, further honing my adaptability and self-reliance.
In addition to offshore cruising, I participated in the 2022 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, preparing the vessel to meet stringent Category 1 requirements. As part of an 8-person crew, we achieved a top-third finish in our division, showcasing my ability to perform under high-pressure, competitive conditions.
In 2024, I have been working as a Skipper, Co-Skipper, and First Mate on sailing boats between 40 and 52 ft, including monohulls, catamarans, and a trimaran. In Greece, I served as the skipper of a 43 ft monohull for six weeks, conducting back-to-back weekly charters with up to seven guests. I have also completed around 10,000 nm of deliveries of Nautitech catamarans of various sizes from La Rochelle, France, throughout the Mediterranean. At present, I am en route across the Atlantic Ocean on a Neel 52', acting as Co-Skipper following an extensive refit.
I earned my RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence in 2024 in the Solent, UK. Complementing this are essential certifications such as STCW and ENG1, ensuring I’m well-equipped to handle both routine and emergency situations at sea. My qualifications are backed by practical experience in deck duties, boat handling, and teamwork.
Beyond my technical expertise, I’m known for my positive attitude, solution-oriented mindset, and ability to thrive in collaborative environments. These traits, combined with strong leadership skills, allow me to effectively guide others while fostering open communication and teamwork. My commitment to professionalism and accountability ensures tasks are executed with precision, whether maintaining a vessel, assisting with hospitality, or planning voyages.
Having traveled extensively and lived abroad, I quickly adapt to new environments and thrive in multicultural settings. This adaptability, paired with excellent health and fitness, makes me resilient in challenging conditions. My enthusiasm for exploration and dedication to learning continue to drive my growth in the sailing industry.
