Looking for a Deckhand, Delivery Crew position
I am a 28-year-old South African male deckhand/mate I have worked on deep sea charter vessels for 10 years. I have been an inland fishing guide on my personal 6m vessel for bass, tilapia, barbel, catfish, carp and many other species found in South African waters. I have caught fish in 5 out of the 7 continents (North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia.)
I have experience on two 7m VIP deep sea charter vessels and a 17m charter sportfishing yacht with main duties being: • Docking procedures both as crew and captain, line handling, fenders. • Cleaning and repairs to the hull, engines, windows and superstructure, basic electrical wiring and bilge cleaning • Solo driving of vessels including docking and bunkering, collecting of guests from airport or accommodation, interior assistance, navigation and passage planning and guest trip planning. • Guest provisioning /cooking, keeping guests informed about safety and any necessary information about rigs and target fish. • Fishing rod and reel repair, maintenance and building, making of traces, leaders and fishing rigs, live and dead bait preparation, spread set up with outriggers. I am very passionate about the ocean both being in and around but also the preservation of it. I pride myself on my work ethic and attention to detail. I am very dedicated to any work that I am doing and I would not compromise the integrity of the vessel , crew or myself. I have been on and around many different vessels all my life from yachts to canoes and am proficient and confident in driving vessels/tenders. I am confident with guest relations/interactions and talking about any topic that may arise.
