Green but Game – Seeking Sailing Experience and Good Company
I'm currently working as a Deckhand on the Great Lakes with a Canadian marine shipping company, actively progressing toward ABT (Able Bodied Trainee) certification. I come fully certified with a valid Marine Medical, Passport, Marine Basic First Aid, MEDS: STCW Basic Safety, Survival Craft, VPWSR, and ROC-MC.
My background blends academic depth with hands-on marine experience. I hold a degree in Environmental Geography from Nipissing University, plus certificates in Geomatics, Environmental Management, and Aquaculture. I spent four years living and working at sea as a fish farmer in Nootka Sound, where I developed excellent knot-tying skills and a deep respect for life on the water.
Now seeking a career shift back to sea, working in the great lakes and rivers on cargo ships, I’m open to volunteering aboard vessels during my off time to gain further experience and contribute meaningfully. I also own a DJI FPV drone and would be happy to put it to use if it benefits your operations—whether for footage, inspections, or creative projects.
If you're looking for a reliable, safety-conscious crew member with a strong work ethic, educator, and a passion for marine life I’d love to connect.
