Hello! I’m Danny/Daniel, Swedish-American dual citizen, aspiring commercial skipper and marine conservationist. In late 2025 I wrapped up a six month role serving as 1st Mate, Caretaker and acting Skipper aboard an Oceanis 411 in the the Med, and continue to seek opportunities to meaningfully contribute on new passages and vessels while expanding my own skills. A recent challenging delivery from Djibouti through the Red Sea and Suez Canal to Greece proved an excellent example.
I’m in very good health - no physical restrictions, ailments or sea sickness - and lead an active, low-maintenance lifestyle. I bring a proactive "anticipate and adapt" mindset aboard, absolutely love to troubleshoot, crawl around in lockers and solve issues with resources at hand, while being seen as easygoing, considerate, stable and low drama, and sometimes kinda funny. I also enjoy trying to up my game as a galley cook. :-)
