looking to build mileage and work diligently to train for circumnavigation!
I’m currently in Las Palmas looking for a spot on an Atlantic crossing and am
available immediately. I hold an American passport and an EU long-stay,
multi-entry visa (valid through July 2026). Half Greek, I grew up between
Greece and the US, and the “Wine Dark Sea” has been the dearest part of
my life since childhood.
Most recently, I served as First Mate (sole crew) on a 42’ sloop in the Spo-
rades Islands for 15 days, handling sails, helm, docking, anchoring, provi-
sioning, and daily vessel upkeep while living aboard full-time. ( I now sleep
better on a boat than on land!) A few weeks earlier, I completed a live-
aboard course in Poros to prepare for my ASA 104/105 exams. I also hold
ASA 101, 103, and 111 certifications, and I’m on track to earn my ASA
skipper license in January 2026.
Beyond seamanship, I bring strong mental and physical endurance, adapt-
ability, and a love of learning. I earned an FAA 1st Class Medical, have
20/15 vision, and a background in freediving, swim coaching, lifeguarding,
and long-distance hiking. I haven’t yet stood a night watch, but I’m eager
to learn and my night vision is excellent. My last skipper called me Eagle
Eyes (only half-jokingly, but I loved it).
I enjoy cooking and can prepare a range of cuisines, and I’m a keen amateur
naturalist with an interest in insects, birds, and celestial naviagtion.
Above all, I bring reliability, good humor, and a willingness to work hard
wherever needed. I’d be glad to support your voyage as a positive and
dependable crew member.
