Would love to travel through the sea and meet people
Hi, I’m Justin a 28-year-old physical education teacher, nature lover and photographer from the Netherlands. I’m here to meet new people, build genuine friendships and learn more about sailing.
The sea has always been part of my life. From the age of two I spent time on my grandfather’s boat, and growing up in Zeeland I had to take a boat to school every day. So yes, I’m pretty comfortable on the water!
This month I’m starting a sailing course in the Netherlands to improve my seamanship, with the dream of heading to the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, and eventually crossing the Atlantic to South America.
Skills & background
- PE teacher: fit, active and used to working with people.
- Work in after-school care, strong pedagogical skills, used to guiding, motivating and entertaining kids.
- I enjoy cooking and can prepare meals (plant-based, vegetarian, meat or fish) for the crew.
- Experienced photographer who loves capturing life and souls.
- Experienced with long shifts and overnight work.
Languages: Dutch, English, some German
What I can bring on board
- Happy to help with sailing, watches, cleaning and general tasks.
- Can cook healthy meals and keep the crew fed.
- Share fitness or stretching routines if the crew is up for it.
- Easygoing personality, love good conversations and yes… a fair share of dad jokes.
What I’m looking for
- I’m interested in coastal trips as well as longer passages towards the Canary Islands, Cape Verde and South America. Open for other ideas as well. I’m flexible about contributing to costs and always keen to learn more.
