Looking for a Skipper, Competent Crew, Mile building, Racing crew or Voluntary work position
Hello. I'm interested in finding a position as a Skipper, Competent Crew, Mile building, Racing crew or Voluntary work.
I have been sailing since a teenager, mostly dinghies on the Norfolk Broads, currently sailing a Wayfarer World from Hickling broad, where I am an active member of the Hickling sailing club helping on the Safety boat duties. The last three years, I have been sailing a 38ft sloop from Pin Mill, River Orwell, Suffolk and out of Felixstowe/Harwich. This has been nearly all at the helm, passing on my skills to the yacht owner, who purchased it with no previous sailing experience. Transitioning to coastal waters, I realised I needed to up skill myself, within the last couple of years, achieved the RYA First Aid, VHF SRC, PB2, RYA Day Skipper certificate and recently achieved the classroom based Yachtmasters theory. Really enjoy the coastal sailing and the challenges it brings. Apart from the enjoyment side, I’m also looking to broaden my sailing experience in preparation for the yacht master practical. I am based at North Norfolk, but distance not an issue, as travel as part of my job role and regularly travel over two hundred miles to Chichester as part of my work. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to crew, helm or Skipper. I’m easygoing , fit (run three times a week), take everything in my stride, punctual and 100% reliable. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Other attributes, engineer and good cook.
Wishing you fair weather and happy sailing. Peter
