Looking for sailing experience and good times sailing with others
I recently got my RYA Day-Skipper certification out in Tasman Bay, New Zealand and now want to build up sea miles, gain as much experience as possible, aboard different kinds of sailboats in a variety of conditions. My long-term aim is to buy my own boat and complete an unassisted, non-stop circumnavigation. I'd like to meet others who share a passion for sailing. I'm back in Europe now, willing to travel.
I got into sailing by reading about Chichester and Knox-Johnston when living in Greenwich. But as a young kid I used to go out on my grandfather's yacht out of Tampa, FL. I've also done a good bit of dinghy sailing, on Rutland Water, where I'm from, and more recently on Lake Wanaka in NZ. Currently finishing my NauticEd RYA Day-Skipper theory course.
I enjoy cooking, as well as a good conversation, fishing, adventures in the mountains, books. I've worked as a professional classical guitarist. I'm practical, tidy and well organised. Looking forward to getting back out on the water! Fair winds,
Nick
