About Me – Joko
Hi, I’m Joko — currently based in Phuket and actively sailing in Southeast Asia.
I’ve built my experience across the Mediterranean (Greece – Volos & Cyclades, Croatia – Hvar, Šibenik, Zadar) and I feel completely at home on sailing yachts. I hold a skipper license (Category B) and I’m confident handling real onboard responsibilities — navigation planning, anchoring, docking, night watches, and general boat management.
I’m practical and hands-on by nature. I can troubleshoot and repair most onboard issues (mechanical, electrical, structural), which makes me a reliable asset on any passage. I also enjoy cooking and keeping a good atmosphere onboard — I believe a happy crew sails better.
Beyond sailing, I run my own tourism business and cafés, so I’m financially independent and not doing this out of necessity — I choose projects that are interesting, well-organized, and have a good crew dynamic. I can contribute to expenses when needed and I’m fully flexible with timing.
I speak multiple languages (including Indonesian) and adapt easily to different crews and cultures.
What I’m looking for:
Delivery trips, island hopping, or longer passages in Asia special in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia
Crew position with the possibility to step into an acting skipper role
Serious sailing, not just “floating around”
I take responsibility, stay calm under pressure, and I’m always ready to step up when needed.
Bonus: I also work in media/video, so I can help create high-quality content for your boat or project.
