Reliable Dutch Sailor seeking Atlantic Crossing end of March 2026 (Carib ➔ EU)
Location: British Virgin Islands
Availability: March 29th – May 15th, 2026
Role: Crew / Watch Keeper
About Me:
I am a dedicated Dutch sailor transitioning from a corporate career to professional sailing. After spending March sailing the BVIs, I am looking to return to Europe to complete my Yachtmaster Offshore. I am eager to build ocean miles and can guarantee a safe, proactive, and positive presence on board.
Why I’m the right crew for you:
• Proven Responsibility: 10 weeks as Skipper for The Yacht Week (Croatia, 2025). I can handle boat management, social dynamics, and tight maneuvering under pressure.
• Technical Sailing Skills: 6 years as a Dinghy Instructor. I understand sail trim, wind dynamics, and helm balance instinctively.
• Reliable & Social: I am easy-going, hardworking, and understand the importance of crew morale on long passages.
• Medically Fit: Holding a valid ENG1.
Certifications:
• RYA Day Skipper
• ICC (Inland + Coastal / Dutch KVB2)
• VHF (Dutch Marcom-B)
• RYA First Aid
The Deal:
I am not looking for a paid salary, but I am seeking a position where on-board expenses (food/provisions) are covered. I am fully committed to pulling my weight on watches, maintenance, and cooking.
If you are looking for a competent, sober, and cheerful pair of hands for your crossing, please get in touch!
