Looking for a Captain, 1st Mate, Bosun or Captain/Engineer position
I hold a commercially endorsed Master of Yachts 200GT (and by extension OOW < 500GT) and bring 6 years’ experience in the yachting industry across a range of roles and vessel types. I am motivated by professionalism, strong seamanship, and contributing positively within well-run programs that value high standards, teamwork, and accountability.
With 6 years in the yachting industry, including two years in command roles as Captain of a 22m sailing catamaran and Chase Boat Captain of a 43ft racing-spec tender, as well as two years as First Mate on a 37m and currently a 34m (111ft) well-known classic motor yacht, I bring a well-rounded foundation in leadership, deck operations and hands-on technical work, topside and below in the engine room.
As Captain of S/Y Wonderful, I didn’t just oversee operations, but I was directly involved in maintaining engines, generators, and air conditioning systems. I managed yard periods, working closely with contractors and crew to ensure high-quality outcomes. I’m also confident handling jet tenders, large outboard, as well as racing-spec inboard tenders, supporting guest operations with safety, clarity, and precision.
My experience extends to navigation, close-quarters manoeuvring, and watchkeeping duties, and extensive towing...skills developed not only through captaining Wonderful but also serving as the chase boat captain for the 43ft inboard tender.
I’m very involved in watersports and hold a Personal Watercraft Instructor certification. I’ve towed guests for skiing and wakeboarding, as well as set up and maintained a wide range of equipment including Seabobs, Flite boards, Jetsurfs, and kitesurfing gear. I bring a strong focus on guest enjoyment, safety, and professional interaction in all these activities.
A high level of personal fitness allows me to comfortably meet the physical demands of yacht life. Whether it’s long hours on deck, active guest programs, or hands-on technical work, I enjoy physically demanding environments and bring endurance, strength, and focus to every task.
I have shown strong commitment and reliability, having spent three consecutive years within the same fleet, growing through different roles and responsibilities.
I am currently based in Palma de Mallorca and am available to join your program within a week.
We’re keen to be part of a program that is active and varied, with an element of exploration and movement, rather than a purely routine or static operation often associated with more traditional seasonal programs.
