Looking for a Novice Crew position

Hi, I'm Nicholas but you can call me Nick :)
and I am looking for an atlantic crossing for end of 2026 or beginning of 2027.

-- Experience --
I am still a beginner sailor even though I have participated in our university's sailing club in Marseille (2022) and have done a week's sailing in the south of France with the UCPA (oct 2025), I will also do a week of sailing with the Glénans (mar 2026) in Bretagne and try to experience some colder weather and bigger waves.
I also love windsurfing which taught me how to catch the wind and have done a few kayaking expeditions in Sweden and the South of France.

A brief description of me
I am half english half french (dad is british, mum is french) so I grew up speaking both languages. I grew up in the french Alps, hiking, camping, skiing, always spending a lot of time in nature and studied some years in Marseille, where I got my first taste of sailing ! After a semester abroad in Karlsruhe, Germany, where I strengthened my knowledge of german (I wouldn't say I'm fluent but rather between B2/C1) I graduated and backpacked in Vietnam for 2 months, documenting everything with my camera and posting it on my youtube channel, making vlogs and documentaries is a big passion of mine ! I found an engineering job in Belgium, where I am still working (in may 2026 it will be 2 years), in this multicultural country, I met many people from South America who helped me acquire a decent Spanish level (officially B2, but it is now better than my german haha).

My life path has been driven by curiosity, I love meeting new people, learning new things, going to new places, I just can't settle down ! And this brings us to the last part of this description.

Why do I want to sail across the Atlantic ?
I want to go to South America, I've been having this dream for almost 2 years now. I also feel very concious about my emissions and consumption, trying to keep both as little as I can. I feel bad when I take a plane, I only take planes when I have to, a vacation abroad doesn't justify taking a plane, especially when time isn't a constraint. The ecological reason is the main one, however I am also looking for an adventure I will never forget, we were only given one life ! Might as well live it to the fullest :D
The more I sail the more I like it ! And it gives me this sense of freedom, of being completely independant, not relying on any external party, just like when I go trekking in the alps with my camping gear and my food ! The last reason is to completely disconnect from technology and social media for a while, clearing my mind, giving myself time to introspect and look within.

My personality in a few keywords
Chill - stoic - listener - calm - can be sarcastic - bad sense of humour - curious - (hyper)active - sometimes forgetful - dreamy

My hobbies
Videography/editing - hiking - camping/bushcraft - calisthenics - learning languages - bouldering - drinking beer (thanks Belgium)
