Looking for a Deckhand, Novice Crew, Competent Crew or Voluntary work position
Hey, I'm Cosima, 19 years old and sea addict. Over the past few months, I have collected over 10.000 nautical miles as a deckhand/watchkeeper on the motor vessel M/Y Bandero, crossing the South Pacific and sailing down to Antarctica for the purpose of ocean conservation. I thrive on the ocean, the stormy deck, physical work surrounded by nature.
Now, I want to dare the actual sailing, preferrably on more traditional ships. My goal is to get from South America (my current location) to Europe by boat. I am looking for open-minded, competent sailors who love adventure as much as I do and can teach me how to sail so we can best enjoy our time at sea together.
I would describe myself as motivated, creative, learning fast and not shying away from hard work. Additionally to my time on the Bandero, which included ice navigation, high seas, mooring operations and anchoring, I got an STCW Basic Safety and Security-related training. Other skills I bring are vegan cooking, basic carpentry as well as art and music. I love connecting with people on a deeper level too as I believe sharing different perspectives and having philosophical conversations on a basis of similar values can greatly enrich our lives as crew and as human beings.
