Looking for sailing opportunities in the South and East USA, Bahamas and Caribbean.
Hi. I want to go sailing. My spouse wants to go sailing too, but hasn't signed up yet. We will go as a team or I can go by myself, when she lets me. ;) Although we are American, we do not reflect the current political environment.
I have sailed as part of the World ARC from St. Lucia to Vanuatu; crossed the Caribbean and the Pacific on a catamaran. I have owned several boats for coastal cruising and want to do more cruising. I have had a break in sailing for the last few years for personal reasons, but am ready to continue the journey. I would love to get back to the South Pacific someday and do more snorkeling and diving.
I have diesel engine and mechanical experience. I can trouble shoot faults, and replace parts, but I don't perform major overhaul or rebuilding (unless there is no other option). I refurbished/rebuilt an old wooden boat. I have done fiberglass work and I can operate hand tools. I also have been a building maintenance director, so I have those kinds of skills as well.
I can also cook, but I prefer grilling. Nothing extraordinarily fancy, but not heating up canned meals either (unless that is all there is left in the galley). I prefer a Keto animal based diet but, I am not that choosy. (Happy to pay for my own food.) I don't drink alcohol, but I love me a few cups of coffee in the morning!
I am retired military. That means I am familiar with chain of command, mission accomplishment and performing my duties. I don't like talking about my military service as it was a lifetime ago.
