Looking for a Friendship, Novice Crew or Voluntary work position

Hi everyone,

My name is César, I’m 37 years old, originally from Margarita Island, Venezuela, and currently living in Belgium.

I grew up surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, but I haven’t been back home in almost 20 years. After spending the last 8 years in Europe, I’ve started feeling a strong pull back toward the ocean. The sea has always felt like my home, and I’m now looking to take my first serious steps into the sailing world.

I’m looking for opportunities as Friendship Crew, Novice Crew, or Volunteer Crew. While I’m still at the beginning of my sailing journey, I’m highly motivated to learn, gain experience, and become a valuable crew member. My goal is not just to go on a few sailing trips, but to build real skills and eventually be able to undertake longer passages with confidence.

One of my biggest dreams is to cross the Atlantic Ocean and rediscover the Caribbean islands by sea. In the long term, I hope to buy my own sailboat and live aboard, embracing a lifestyle more connected to nature, freedom, and adventure.

Outside of sailing, I work in the music and events industry, organizing festivals and cultural projects. This work has taught me to stay calm under pressure, solve problems quickly, work long hours, and collaborate with people from many different backgrounds.

I am passionate about the ocean, sports, nature, and outdoor life. I also have a deep love for art music. and of course the sea

I speak Spanish and English fluently, and French at a basic level, which allows me to communicate in international environments and adapt quickly to multicultural crews.

I also consider myself a very grounded person, with strong common sense and great adaptability, developed through many years of travel. I have travelled extensively across South America, including experiences in the Amazon, Patagonia, and along the entire Pacific coast. These experiences taught me resilience, respect for nature, and the ability to adapt to very different and sometimes challenging environments.

I am also very comfortable with technology and quickly adapt to digital tools, navigation systems, and technical equipment.

I am a calm, reliable, hardworking person, always willing to help with any task on board. I enjoy learning new skills, meeting new people, and contributing positively to the crew atmosphere. Whether it’s a short coastal trip, a boat delivery, mile building, or a longer passage, I would be very grateful for the opportunity to learn and be part of the adventure.

I also enjoy cooking and can contribute on board in the galley.

If you are looking for a motivated crew member who brings enthusiasm, commitment, and a genuine passion, I would be happy to hear from you.

Fair winds,

César
