Experienced Sailing Crew Seeking 3–6 Week Adventure
About Me
My name is Jakob, I am a 31-year-old architect from Austria, currently living near Lake Constance on the German-Swiss border.
I have been sailing regularly for more than 10 years, mainly in Croatia and the Mediterranean. My most significant sailing experience was a transatlantic voyage aboard the traditional sailing cargo vessel Tres Hombres in 2016, sailing from the Caribbean via the Azores to the Netherlands. In 2018, I completed another offshore passage from the Canary Islands to Cape Verde.
I hold the German Sportbootführerschein See (SBF See) and the RYA Short Range Certificate (SRC).
I am comfortable with night watches, helming, sail handling, anchoring, mooring and everyday life on board. While I am not a professional skipper, I am an experienced, reliable and hands-on crew member who enjoys taking responsibility and contributing actively to the boat and the crew.
Professionally, I work as an architect and have a strong practical background in construction, woodworking and technical problem-solving. I have built and maintained many things myself, including the conversion of my own campervan. I enjoy practical work and am always happy to help with maintenance, repairs and projects on board.
I am looking for offshore passages or cruising adventures of approximately 3–6 weeks. My main motivation is to gain experience, explore new places and contribute actively to a successful voyage rather than simply joining as a passenger.
I am easy-going, adaptable, non-smoking and enjoy being part of a motivated crew.
