Looking for a Novice Crew position with 2 friends
Hello! ? Three french motivated crew members are looking for their next adventure ⛵
Hi! We’re Lisa, Lucas and Marietta (all turning 33 this year), friends and healthcare professionals (midwives and a nurse) ?⚕️?⚕️, but above all passionate travellers and adventurers ?.
We met in New Caledonia three years ago, and today we share the same dream: crossing the Atlantic on a sailboat. ?⛵
Thanks to our profession, we know how to stay calm under pressure, make quick decisions and adapt to challenging situations. We can also be valuable in case of any medical issue on board. ? Used to night shifts, irregular schedules and busy working environments, keeping watch during long passages doesn't worry us. ?
✨ A little more about each of us
Marietta
People often describe me as cheerful, enthusiastic and full of energy. ☀️ I'm very active and love sports (?, ?, ? ?♀️). I've always wanted to learn how to sail, and I simply love being at sea and everything related to the marine environment. ?⛵
Living in a shared space is something I'm very comfortable with. I've lived in shared houses several times and even travelled in a van with a friend. ? I'm sociable, enjoy meeting new people, playing board games ?, laughing and discovering new places.
I enjoy cooking ??, I'm always happy to help with daily chores, and I'm keen to contribute fully to life on board. As a bonus, I'm fluent in English ?? and can also speak a bit of Spanish. ??
To prepare for this project, I completed a two-week sailing course with Les Glénans in Brittany last May, where I learned the basics of sailing: nautical terminology, manoeuvres, chartwork, safety and more. And spoiler alert... I absolutely loved it! ? The experience only strengthened my desire to cross the Atlantic by sail.
Lisa
I'm an enthusiastic crew member who had the opportunity to take part in several sailing trips in French Polynesia last year, an experience that confirmed my passion for life at sea. ⛵️
? I'm always in a good mood, enjoy sharing great meals ?️, discovering new cultures ? and learning new things ?. Curious, adaptable and proactive, I genuinely enjoy contributing to life on board and lending a hand ? whenever needed.
? When I'm not on the water, you'll probably find me playing games ?, drawing ✏️ or practising acroyoga ?♀️. One thing is certain: I never let boredom settle in! ?✨
?️ I'm fluent in both French ?? and English ??, making communication easy with international crews. ?
Looking forward to sharing an amazing adventure at sea! ?
Lucas
⚓ I'm calm, reliable and resourceful. I learn quickly and always give my best in everything I do. Used to teamwork ? and handling unexpected situations, I'm always happy to help—whether it's with manoeuvres, watches, cooking ?, cleaning ? or general boat maintenance.
Between studying nautical charts ?️, I enjoy cooking for the crew, relaxing in a hammock overlooking the sea ? and dreaming about pirate treasures. ?☠️
? I've also had the chance to take part in several sailing trips in French Polynesia, and I'm eager to continue exploring the sailing world while being a useful and dependable crew member.
We know that an Atlantic crossing also means night watches ?, fatigue, sometimes challenging weather ?️ and living in a confined space. That's exactly the kind of complete adventure we're looking for. Of course, we're happy to contribute to the onboard expenses.
Ideally, we'd love to meet before departure and, if possible, spend a few days sailing together beforehand so we can get to know each other before the big crossing.
We're available from October or November ? (and even earlier if you'd like to meet first). We're flexible regarding both the departure and arrival ports—what matters most to us is the human and sailing adventure. ❤️?
We'd love to hear from you and hopefully share this incredible adventure together! ?
