Looking for a Novice Crew, Voluntary work or Competent Crew position
Hi there! I’m Louis, a 26-year-old French engineer working in the solar industry, currently based in Sydney.
I’ve been on the water since I was a kid—starting with Optimists, catamarans, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. Since moving to Australia, I’ve spent a season racing/sailing with the Flying Squadron in Sydney, keeping my hands-on sailing skills sharp.
Sailing Experience Optimists, Catamarans, Windsurfing, Kitesurfing.
Inshore / Local Racing: 1 season sailing with the Sydney Flying Squadron on the Australia with Marshall.
Coastal Cruising: Multiple multi-day and week-long sailing trips around Corsica and Italian islands.
Skills on Board: Hands-on experience across deck work, rigging, maintenance, and general boat duties. Quick to adapt and always ready to pull my weight.
What I’m Looking For
Trips: Day sails, weekend getaways, or multi-day trips around NSW and beyond.
Role: Willing crew member ready to assist in any area—helm, watchkeeping, galley, or deck maintenance.
My Goals
My main objective is to gain more offshore experience and learn the ins and outs of open-sea sailing. I’m eager to keep learning so I can skipper my own vessel in the future—with an ultimate dream goal of sailing back to France from Sydney one day!
Why host me?
I’m positive, easygoing, mechanically minded, and energetic onboard. Whether it's a casual day sail or a demanding coastal passage, I bring enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and a genuine love for the sea.
Cheers and fair winds,
Louis
