Engineer with SKS looking to crew on Atlantic crossings and deliveries
Hi, I'm Oliver, a mechanical engineer from Germany working in product development. Sailing has become a big part of my life over the last few years, and I'm keen to spend as much time on the water as I can.
I hold the SKS (German coastal skipper licence) as well as SRC and LRC radio certificates. So far I've gained my experience mainly through training and charters with friends, and I'm skippering a 47ft yacht in Croatia this October. What I'm missing most is offshore miles, which is why I'm looking to join crossings, deliveries or longer passages as crew.
On board I'm happy to take on any job. As an engineer I'm comfortable with anything technical, so if something breaks, I'll gladly help diagnose and fix it. But I am also happy to assist with cooking, cleaning and taking watches.
I'm easy-going, reliable and enjoy both good conversations and quiet night watches. My long-term goal is to cross the Atlantic on my own boat, and I'd love to learn from experienced skippers along the way.
