Competent sailor looking for a Delivery Crew position,

Hi — I’ve just joined Crewbay and am primarily looking for opportunities as delivery crew, particularly offshore and coastal passages where I can contribute as a capable crew member while continuing to build offshore experience and sea time.

After a long career in the IT industry, I’m making a deliberate career change into professional sailing. I’m a USCG-licensed captain (OUPV) and ASA sailing instructor, with formal training through ASA 106/114 and experience on both monohulls and cruising catamarans.

I’m comfortable standing independent watches, including overnight watches, and have experience sailing with small crews where everyone needs to be dependable and contribute. I’m safety-conscious, practical, easy-going, and flexible about roles aboard. I enjoy learning from more experienced sailors and am equally comfortable taking responsibility when appropriate.

Recent offshore/coastal experience includes:
• Seattle to San Diego, 2025 — approximately 1,200 nm, 3 crew, including offshore watches and challenging conditions with winds into the 25–30+ knot range.
• Neah Bay/Seattle area to San Francisco, 2026 — 3 crew, offshore passage along the Washington/Oregon/California coast, including overnight watches.
• Cartagena, Colombia to Panama City, 2025 — aboard 59° North’s Nordic Falken, including the San Blas Islands and transit of the Panama Canal.
• San Diego to Cabo San Lucas, November 2026 — upcoming passage with a small crew.

Qualifications include:
• USCG Merchant Mariner Credential — OUPV / Near Coastal
• ASA Sailing Instructor for the following courses;
• ASA 101, 103, 104, 105, 106 and 114
• Catamaran/cruising experience, including bareboat chartering
• Offshore and overnight watchstanding experience

My primary goal right now is to gain more offshore passage and delivery experience, particularly on well-run boats with experienced skippers. I’m not looking for a vacation disguised as crewing — I’m happy standing watches, cooking, cleaning, troubleshooting, handling lines, doing routine maintenance, and generally doing what is needed to keep the boat and crew functioning safely.

At the same time, I enjoy the social side of sailing. I’m easy to get along with, calm under pressure, and comfortable living in close quarters with different personalities. I don’t need to be the skipper and have no problem taking direction.

I’m a dual US/Swedish citizen and am interested in delivery and passage opportunities in the US, Mexico, Caribbean and farther afield. Longer offshore passages are particularly interesting as I continue developing toward professional captain/instructor and delivery work.

If you have a well-found boat, take seamanship and safety seriously, and need a reliable extra pair of hands for a passage or delivery, I’d be interested in talking.
