Hardworking Novice Crew Looking for Hands-On Experience, Nautical Miles, and Vibes!
Hi - My name is Emery and I’m a Novice crew looking for experience, good people, and to sail around the world. I am a hard worker, quick to learn, do not get seasick, and love the ocean. I’m also a fan of card games, backgammon, and chess.
I’m based in Salt Lake during the Winter (Nov-April) as a professional Alpine Ski Instructor, so I’d be looking for a positions outside of that timeframe. Usually, I spend my summers in Hawaii, where I love free diving, scuba, and surfing (although not very good). Otherwise, you can find me paragliding/speedflying along the West Coast.
I grew up around river guides, having experience working on whitewater 14ft/16ft rafts through the Grand Canyon, the Rogue, the American, and the Green. I also have a short 2026 season of commercial salmon fishing under my belt. In Hawaii, I work as a barista and trainer at a Kona Coffee Shop as well as landscaping work.
I’m happy to pursue any extra certification needed for sailing. Currently have CPR certification via a Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course, while pursuing a WFR certification in the spring.
