Hello Sailors!
I'm looking for deliveries and mile-building anywhere.
Have sailed extensively in the Mediterranean, as flotilla skipper, on charters and deliveries and would be happy to skipper on deliveries in the Med.
Available as delivery crew worldwide.
I hold MCA / RYA Yachtmaster Coastal and am working towards the offshore and ocean tickets.
My Experience:
1980s – Optimists, 420s and other sailing dinghies. Coastal cruising in the Greek islands in a sketchy homebuilt catamaran with no engine.
Early 1990s – Crewed on a number of deliveries from S of France (Hyeres) to Athens bringing new boats for Kiriacoulis Mediterranean.
1990s – Worked as a charter skipper for Kiriacoulis, and completed many deliveries as skipper and crew in the Greek islands. Worked a season as flotilla skipper for Greek Sails operating out of Poros.
1990s – 2020 – Sailed mostly for pleasure, cruising in the Mediterranean.
2020 – Renovated a 42' yacht, replacing and / or upgrading all systems. Personally rebuilt the engine and upgraded all electrical and plumbing systems, replaced windlass, electronics etc. Cruised the Greek islands and learnt a lot about fixing things when they go wrong!
2024 – Bought an abandoned Sun Odyssey 37' and renovated, again replacing or upgrading all systems. Built a self steering wind vane and sailed solo in the Greek islands, including solo trips to Turkey and Albania (and back!).
My experience renovating the two yachts has given me confidence in my ability to troubleshoot most problems that arise onboard, and an in depth knowledge of how the various systems work.
