Sustainable travel and skill building
I am looking to enhance my sailing experiences. I have been on a sail boat around Sumatra for three weeks and touring around the canaries for a week.
Also volunteering with Sea Shepherd Global for 7 months on their ships mostly in West Africa and Italy. Where we have been fighting against illegal fishing activities. My positions:
Quarter Master: Helping the officer on the bridge. So I do have good experience in manoeuvring and navigating a ship.
Communications Officer (ETO): Where I have been repairing and solving IT, radio, satellite internet and telephone issues on the main ship as well as on the small boats.
4th Engineer: Where I have been working in the engine room being by myself on night shifts.
Many stories to tell from there!
I guess the background of navigation, electronics and ships shouldn't be too bad by now.
Ideally it is possible to combine those sailing trips with some sustainable distance travelling.
Some more general information about myself:
I am working freelance in IT. Very cautious about the environment as for animals and climate change.
Into diving, kite surfing and riding motorbikes! :)
Been travelling and living in some places around the globe for the last four years, mostly around Africa, Australia, South East Asia and South America so far. In Buenos Aires right now. Heading north very soon.
Non-smoker, vaccinated, mostly vegan diet.
