ER nurse trying to get open ocean time
I am a 25 year-old ER nurse currently living on Maui. I lived on Maui for about 2.5 years before moving to Molokai for nursing. Living on Molokai was an amazing experience. It's the only Hawaiian island left that hasn't been commercialized and it's people are truly amazing. The ocean is so appreciated in Hawaii and that is the draw I have to these islands. I recently moved back to Maui and am thinking about starting some assignments for travel nursing. That would leave me large chunks of time for travel and hopefully sailing. I have always been a surfer and became a surf instructor at the age of 15. I have always been very competitive and athletic, and, yes, I was voted most athletic at my all girl high school. Surfing was more thatnthe competitive sports that I was so consumed with I was younger. I had never done anything that had compared to my passion for surfing until I tried sailing. I started sailing about 5 years ago when I was offered sailing lessons in return for surf lessons. I've been trying to gain as much sailing experience as possible as of late. Let's just say it's been a struggle to find people to take you out and have done my fair share of sanding. I am a low maintenance and personable. I would love any opportunity to get out on the water.
