Seeking knowledge and adventure
Ahoy!
Due to this pandemic, I have had to put my European summer travel plans on hold, but still plan to spend the summer learning and exploring. I planned on finding a boat to join next year but see this as a sign and opportunity to take the leap and do it now.
The extent of my knowledge is sailing a sloop from Port Huron to Sanilac, so I realize my skill is close to none. What I’m looking for is to work as a deckhand for a knowledgeable captain, but would also be willing to work as a stewardess if I have a captain that is willing to teach me the ropes during downtime. I have 5+ years in the service and bartending industry so interpersonal and people skills are some of my strongest characteristics. I’m currently in Indiana just getting done with the school semester and can meet In Florida once we have some sort of interview.
I’ve always dreamed of sailing the sea and have always had an itch for adventure. I am quick to learn so my lack of knowledge would only be an issue for a short while. Thanks for your consideration, stay safe and healthy!
