On board I am a hard worker, have my senses sharp, and people who sailed with me describe me as easy going, energetic and fun to be around. I guess that's what the wind and water does to me! Being on a boat gives me an intense sense of freedom.
I am Jet, 33 years old. During a travel in 2014 I got into a sailboat and acidentally fell in love with the ocean and life onboard. Sailing changed my life competed.
Since then I have been working/sailing/living on different boats (mostly Caribbean but also Atlantic crossings, Mexico, US, Mediteranian & Scandinavia). When I can I enjoy exploring the Dutch waters on my own little sailboat.
I would have liked to have the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore paper in my pocket by now, but unfortunately the exam that I had planned past november got canceled, due to lack of examiners. Does change the fact that I an ready for another Atlantic crossing or Caribbean season!
I absolutely love it and really want keep absorbing everything there is to know about it. Besides a passion for being ón the water I am fascinated about everything that happens ín the water. I like to snorkel every possible opportunity, enjoy free and scuba diving, fishing and got hooked on kiteboarding.
Every day (or night) on the water I learn, but after a couple of years of being on the water I feel confident in trimming sails, repairs & maintenance, passage planning, provisioning and I know what it means to be offshore for longer periods of time and live together in a small space.

Day sail around the Ijsselmeer
Renske joined me for a day sail around kreupel island on a cold spring day. She definitely knows her way around a sailboat and has lots of routine with typical boat tasks. On top of that also very nice company. I hope we meet on the water again soon!
