Looking for a recreational crewing position on a fun, safe, cruising sailboat.
I have a passion for sailing, an adventurous spirit and love to travel and meet new people!!! I enjoy nature and exploring remote locations that may only be found by boat. I grew up on the New Jersey shore and have sailed/owned and maintained my own boats (motor and sail) most of my life. I currently own a 22' Catalina (for relaxing on the bay and enjoying sunset/moonlight cruising) and a Hobie Cat 16' (to get the adrenalin pumping on the Atlantic Ocean when I want more excitement in my life!!!). I've chartered sailboats in California, BVI and Grenada. I’ve crewed on a 44’ Kelly Peterson for 3 months in Mexico, a 40’ Lagoon in the Mediterranean from France to Spain, a 39’ Beneteau from RI to Florida and a 42’ Lagoon from St. Augustine to Fort Lauderdale. Other than sailing my Catalina 22’ and Hobie 16’ (for over 20 years), most of my other sailing experience was First Mate on a 35' Halberg Rassey in New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay. I have also crewed on many different boats, racing and pleasure in the New Jersey area.
After retiring from a 30 year career in Software Engineering and raising 4 children, I worked on yachts as a deckhand/stewardess for fun and have crewed on various sailboats. I’m always looking for my next adventure!
I enjoy all water sports, kayaking, jet skiing, water skiing, wake boarding and love teaching others how to enjoy the water as much as I do!
STCW 95 with Security Awareness (SA) and Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties (VPSDS) endorsements. (These endorsements allowed me to stand watch on yachts professionally). ENG 1 and TWIC certificates.
On a totally different ‘note’ (I couldn’t resist) I love music! Motown, blues, rock, etc.! Unfortunately, I can’t play any instruments but love listening, dancing and singing along!
