Husband & wife looking for a change of scenery
I (husband) recently retired after spending 20 years in the Army and am uninterested in joining corporate America. Instead, my wife and I would like to take some time to learn a new skill and travel a bit, and see where it leads us. Neither my wife nor I have experience on the water to speak of, but we're confident, mature, and hard working. If this is something you are looking for, we'd appreciate the opportunity to learn.
A bit about us -
Husband - Engineer officer who spent the first half of my career either building things or blowing them up. After two combat deployments to Iraq, spent the second half of my career conducting security cooperation with foreign militaries in Latin America, specifically living in Mexico, Panama, and El Salvador. BS in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and a Masters in Public Policy from the Universidad Iberoamericana at Puebla, Mexico. Avid outdoorsmen who enjoys climbing & spending time in the mountains, but most recently cycled across the US.
Wife - Born & raised in Thailand, with a wide range of experiences and interests. Raised in a farming community, she worked in the hospitality industry until we met, married in Thailand, and moved to Hawaii (where he was stationed at the time). Her favorite activities are fishing, gardening, and cooking but she loves running and fitness.
Collectively we enjoy going on road trips, traveling, and challenging ourselves to learn new things. We can promise to bring a sense of adventure, teamwork, and a willingness to learn and work hard with us, but unfortunately we have never spent time on a boat before. However, that is something we hope to change in the future.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Jared & Da
