RYA OCEAN MASTER | YACHTMASTER EXAMINER & INSTRUCTOR | OVER 200,000NM | DOUBLE CIRCUMNAVIGATOR | SOLID ENGINEERING SKILLS

Very experienced yacht skipper with over twenty-five years in the yachting industry. Ocean and offshore racer, delivery skipper, yacht manager, and yacht delivery.

I am fully experienced in all aspects of yacht management and maintenance and am more than capable of yacht engineering and understand that any role will still involve unblocking the heads!

*Captain and manager of the 26m Steel hull classic sailing yacht Windweaver of Pennington
*Clipper Round the World Yacht Race skipper
*Skipper of 5x Sydney to Hobarts races, 2x Fastnet races, Round Britain and Ireland Race, plus
many other offshore races.
*RYA Chief instructor for the Clipper Round the World yacht race in the UK and Australia
*Tens of thousands of miles delivering yachts from 30-100ft all over the world and across the
oceans.

Q: What’s your favourite boating experience? Having sir robin Knox Johnston as my navigator in the 2013 Sydney to Hobart yacht race

Q: What’s your worst boating experience? Being knocked down mid north Pacific and losing my steering

Q: How long have you been boating and what made you start? I have sailed all my life and obtained my Yachtmaster when I was 18

Q: What are your sailing ambitions? What’s the next challenge? I love to teach and train. I have taught thousands of sailors from competent crew to yachtmaster and training race crew and skippers to sail around the world

Q: Where’s your favourite boating destination? I love exploring new places but have a soft spot for Sydney, Australia

Q: What is your favourite boat and why? Swan 55, beautiful yacht and one I am very intimate with having managed a refit on a 40 year old one

Q: What is the longest passage you’ve completed without stops? North Pacific Ocean, 4500NM 27 days!
