Student looking for paid Summer Job
Good day everyone!
I am a 20-year old experienced and qualified sailor originally from Germany and now studying and living in Den Haag, Netherlands. I am looking for a paid job during the months of June, July and August.
I have qualifications up to the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore and am currently working on commercializing the license. I have a Basic STCW and a valid medical. Additionally, I own a discharge book. I speak fluent German and English and have started learning Dutch. With a few more days on a larger vessel, I will be able to attain a deck rating. I am willing to get any additional qualifications needed to fill a position.
Here is a bit about me: I have been sailing for most of my life, as the passion for the sea runs in the family. I learned to sail on larger sailing yachts. When I was 15, I went to Canada to sail on the two traditional brigantines Pathfinder and Playfair and fell in love with traditional boats. I spent the next two summers as a sailing instructor on the local lake. Before I went off to University, I spent a large part of my gap year sailing traditional boats, particularly the brig Eye of the Wind and the Brixham Trawler Leader. Recently I worked for the Scheveningen yacht club as a rib safety driver for their kids sailing classes.
