Sailer looking for NZ summer fun and exploration.
COVID UPDATE. Stayed in Auckland, NZ another year, am now searching weekend or day trips from and around Auckland.
Hi there! I am a 33 year old sailer and early childhood teacher from New Zealand.
I am looking to find like minded sailers who are heading up to the South Pacific Islands from New Zealand (where I am living in Auckland) this year.
I am free to roam wherever and for however long my funds will last. My ideal boat would be with a group of people who are mindful about how we live, and use resources. With people who are looking to involve themselves in the local communities and cultures and to go on some seriously fun adventures above and below the ocean.
I am also open to considering joining a family to help out with the children or anywhere else on board for their ocean travels.
I make for an excellent crew member who is ready to help out in any area of the boat. I take on any challenge calmly and am always willing to learn more.
I grew up sailing with my family including a big trip to some south pacific islands where I learnt to swim at the age of 4.
I have rediscovered sailing as an adult and am absolutely loving it.
I gained my RYA Day Skipper cert in Thailand at the beginning of 2018.
My ocean passages include NZ to Tonga in 2015, Atlantic crossing 2018, a rough and tricky trip across the Gulf if Mexico - Galveston to Miami.
I also crewed on multiple private sailboats in the Mediterranean.
Now I am enjoying an New Zealand summer in the city of sails. Where I have been racing and cruising up around the Hauraki Gulf from Auckland.
