Looking for a Competent Crew, Deckhand position
Hello!
My name is Ted; I am a 24 year old engineering student about to complete my masters at Imperial College. I have been sailing all of my life, but I have done most of my sailing over the past 5 years, where I have raced regularly in Cowes. This is all inshore racing, so I have a good awareness of the technical side of boat work. While racing I was usually foredeck/bow and sometimes pit, though I have raced in all positions on various sizes of boats (mainly the Dragon and Eight metre classes).
Last year I sailed Portimao - Las Palmas - Mindelo - Martinique and around the Caribbean, totalling just over 4000nm.
I was a watch leader on this trip and did almost all night watches as other crew were less experienced. Worked with junior crew and worked with crew who spoke different languages. Happy to link up contact with my skipper for reference!
I am young, in good health and in good shape, keen to learn more about long distance sailing and I am keen for a challenge! Thank you for reading.
