Looking for a Competent Crew position
Hi - I've just joined Crewbay, as crew this time, I'm interested in finding a position as an Amateur Crew. I'm looking forward to meeting some new people! I sold my own yacht last year to do some land travelling but I find I really miss being on the water.
I circumnavigated with my wife in the 90’s on our Westsail 32
Recently I owned and lived onboard a Catalina 42 which I purchased in California and sailed with crew back to Australia. I then spent wonderful years sailing between Queenslands Whitsunday Islands and Tasmania, spending most of my time cruising the terrific sheltered waters of Tassie, lingering @ Bruny Is. & a personal favourite of Franklin on the Huon River. I ventured 3 times (twice solo) to Port Davey, on the rugged west coast, it’s raw wondrous beauty brings me to tears even now.
I’m thinking I want to buy another boat but I’m undecided. So sailing as crew seems the best option right now, it will help me decide. It will also be satisfying to assist and make new friends at the same time. I have crew who sailed with me over the yrs and are still firm friends today.
