Kiwi deck/stew with 11+ years sailing and racing experience in Sydney and Auckland
Hello yachties....
I am currently a Chief Stew onboard a private 40M SY based in Sydney, Australia. I joined this boat in December 2019 and have operated as the sole Deck/Stew onboard during this time.
I am now looking to secure a seasonal role as a deck/stew or stew onboard a private or expedition sailing yacht. Hold RYA Day Skipper, RYA YM Shorebased (working on days at sea for Offshore Practical YM), RYA PBL2, MROC, ENG1, STCW with Security Awareness.
With 11+ years sailing and racing experience in Sydney and Auckland, I am keen to find a crew that is at the top of their game and enjoy a good laugh or two whilst working the long hours and creating an exceptional client experience.
I have an old school attitude to work: arrive early, leave late, notice the details, get on with the job without fuss and care for your team members. I also pride myself on delivering exemplary customer service.
I previously lead/coached a team of 8 at High Performance Sport NZ where we provided all in-house services such as contract management, event management, facility management, logistics/travel and accommodation for Olympic level athletes and coaches.
Living and working longterm in five countries and eight cities has influenced my ability to easily adapt to new environments, to learn new cultures and get along with new colleagues quickly. I believe if you put in the effort, you create your own luck.
