Friendly crew seeking mixed, easy-going boat

I’m Margo, a British/Russian dual citizen and Programme Manager currently taking a multi-year career break. I’m available for sailing opportunities from September 2026 onwards, with no time limit for now. I am starting to think about circumnavigation.

I’m interested in both recreational crewing as well as in suitable paid opportunities. With the right captain and vessel, I would also love the chance to grow into a first-mate role and become an experienced and confident skipper myself.

I hold RYA Day Skipper and Competent Crew qualifications, as well as RYA Powerboat Level 2, RYA Dinghy Sailing and Molchanovs Freediving Level 1.

My sailing experience includes a couple of months in the Mediterranean with friends, three weeks as a crew among the Indonesian islands in lively tropical weather, and winter sailing as a crew off Western Australia in strong and unsettled conditions. It was a mix of island-hopping, offshore passages, night watches, provisioning and living aboard.

On board, I’m happy to take watches, help with navigation and passage preparation, cook, provision, clean etc. Although I enjoy being part of a team, if you are sailing solo we can still talk .

For recreational sailing, I’m not currently able to contribute towards the food or boat’s general running, maintenance or fuel costs. Travel costs/arrangements would need to be paid by skipper/boat owner.

For unpaid trips, my dream would be warm-water cruising, coastal passages and island-hopping. For paid opportunities, I’m open to a wider range of passages and destinations, subject to visa and immigration requirements.

I would prefer my own berth, particularly for a longer trip.
I ’d suggest beginning with two or three weeks, giving us the chance to settle and get to know one another... before committing to a longer adventure.
