Former US Navy Surface Warfare Officer looking for a position on a passage, delivery, or longer cruise
At the moment my partner and I are in French Polynesia and are looking for follow on opportunities!
Former US Navy Surface Warfare Officer with 7 years of seagoing experience. I have spent most of my time standing bridge watch ensuring the safe navigation of warships. Familiar with radio communication systems, commercial radar systems, safety systems, plotting, and advanced navigational skills. I have crewed a 4000 NM journey on a 33m sloop, crewed for two weeks in the Chilean Fjords, and have just completed a 5000 NM Pacific Crossing, so I have some intermediate sailing knowledge and skills associated with sailing. I am very eager to learn more and can pick skills up quickly. Currently traveling the world with my partner looking for interesting opportunities and different ways to see new places. We have a blog that we maintain and are amateur photographers, so if you have a specific need in those areas, we can certainly help out there, as well. We both are traveling with our offshore life vests with tethers and AIS beacons. My partner is currently in French Polynesia and we are determining if we will continue with the season there, so if you need some help getting around the South Pacific, please let us know! Otherwise, we are open to any intriguing opportunities that may come up. A note on my time at sea: I have logged around 10,000 miles and 4 months on a sailboat. The rest of my time and miles come from the watches that I stood while in the Navy on a power driven vessel.
As mentioned above, my partner and I have been traveling the world for many months now and are keen to continue our travels for many more. That being said, we are not just looking for a free ride and are happy to contribute up to our normal daily budget allowance or perhaps a bit above that if the fit is right. Together we have about 10,000 miles under our life vests and are keen to gain more experience. We would love to continue our Pacific Crossing from the Marquesas, be it to other islands in FP or all the way to Asia/Oceania, but we wouldn't mind helping you out on your weekend regatta either. We will be in French Polynesia in late June, but we will not rule out any potential opportunities, so please feel free to contact me no matter where you are or where you're going!
We know that sailing is something that we both enjoy and something we'd like to do more. Being at sea is something not many get to experience and it's a privilege to be able to utilize the ocean as a way to see the world. We would love to continue pursuing these wonderful experiences and are ready to help you do the same!
