From Finance to Sailing Professional
After over ten years in Fiance & Treasury I decided that a career change is necessary. Having sailed on small jolles and a yacht, I embarked on the Brigantine Tres Hombres this year for 5 months to gain experience on tall ships. Having had the chance to learn a lot about sailing a square rigger, doing traditional maintenance (e.g. serving, seizing, lashing and whipping), provisioning and navigation with dead reckoning and Sextant, I want to gain more exprience in this working field and earn my living with it.
I have done two Atlantic Crossing in the last year, completed the Basic Safety Training STCW in October 2019 and hold the Certificate of Competence as Rating Deck.
In my career O worked on a traditional rigged square rigger (Tres Hombres) which transports goods by sail from the Caribbean and Sout America to Europe and for the last months I worked for a charter company which specializes in sailing charter on tradional sailing yachts.
My ambition is to continue my education and training to become a first mate.
