Looking For New Adventures With Great Crew
I began sailing 2 years ago with and I was instantly hooked to the new career. I was offered a job with no experience and would never forget my first day nor my first time on the helm. A lot first time experiences for me are unforgettable. After 3 months in Boston that Summer, we sailed Liberty Clipper (second photo) down south. The transit and the Bahama season was also an experience I will never forget. However, we were all pretty burned out from being short staffed all summer and the long transit (4 Legs.) I finished the winter season early and felt instant regret. I decided to try something new again so I took a course and become a poker dealer here in Boston. After a lot of hard work to change careers, I'm still looking back and missing all the good times I had sailing. Which is why I am back for some more.
I am very flexible with different job positions in this industry and would be willing to try something new and work anywhere. (king crab fishing for a season is on my bucket list!) In the past, I was never required to get a STCW or any certification but plan on it now to have more opportunities. I am considering obtaining my STCW in August but If your crew is not required to have it, I prefer some sea time first and getting it done while I have time off in between boats.
I would like to mention some of my hospitality experience because without excellent service many of us would not have jobs on boats that have guests on board. I am not only passionate about working boats I am also passionate about the hospitality aspect of this industry.I have worked from a Forbes rated 5 star resort to managing a small family owned hostel in the Caribbean. Completely different experiences but enjoyed both in different ways. My experience with boats is similar. Most of it has been on salty schooners but know I would enjoy working on a yacht and would be just as great at it. I currently cant do any kind of volunteer work/work exchange/unpaid jobs. Thank you for your time, I know it was a lot of information on here I just think it is important to really get to know someone you will potential live and crew with. Hope you are somewhere in paradise and we get to work there together soon.
