Sailing in Guatemala - Belize
Looking around for sailing possibilities for mid november 2026 for me and my boyfriend. We'll arrive in Rio Dulce/livingston around 14th of november and would love to spend a couple of weeks up to Belize.
We are backpacking our way up from Nicaragua to central/pacific side Mexico.
I am from Norway, currently living in Tromsø, northern Norway. I enjoy surfing (my main goal for central america), climbing, skiing, generally having an active life style. I'm used to a simple life style with a couple of years of van living, but now live maybe too comfortably with a office job and house. I have a masters in marine biology with a big interest in wild life and the environment, currently working with nature conservation.
My boyfriends, Dominic, is french-english, also living in Tromsø. He's climbs and downhill cycle, and might get more into surfing during this trip. He's a carpenter and previous heating engineer, and i belive he can be of good use on a sailing boat.
I got some good experience when sailing in 2019 from New Caledonia to New Zealand, with a good 8 days ocean crossing and a total of 1300 nm, with solo night watch. In 2023 i worked as crew on a catamaran, hosting turist around Tromsø and Lofoten. I have had some sailing courses, been on sailboats now and then trough my childhood and 20s. The hope is that we both can get more expieriene to one day buy our own boat.
