Looking to learn to sail ...

Hi!
I've been off the corporate hamster wheel a couple of years now. Starting to get an interest in sailing and I'm looking to volunteer time for a cruise or two and find out if it is a fit. When I was a youngster I acquired 1000 or so hours on crew and supply boats in the oil and gas industry however I do not know the art of sailing. I can fix anything with a rubber mallet and a flat head. I'm extremely curious as to why sailing has not been automated.

Based out of Florida.

Q&A

Q: What’s your worst boating experience? Being knocked off my feet by an 18 foot swell crashing over the stern during an attempt to get onto a man basket. Rode the swell from the stern across 100 foot of deck and slammed into the galley entrance.

Q: What is the longest passage you’ve completed without stops? 48 hour ride on a "BoTruc" series supply vessel. Good crew and cooks.
